Data overflow? Junar helps you stay afloat in a data deluge
The Challenge: the web is filled with massive amounts of constantly changing data that is hard to organize and collect.
The Solution: Junar, a new tool that makes collecting data easy.
If you are a journalist, blogger, analyst, student or any one interested in following and using data, give Junar a try. Read on for how to get started.
To collect data from the web with Junar:
1. Find a website with data you care about (a table is the most common form of hosting data, but you can also create data streams from excel, documents and csv files that are on the web). Copy the URL. For example: www.bolsar.com
2. into the Collect data section on Junar
3. Select the table from where you want to extract and follow data (be sure to click on the table until it turns orange).
4. Select the specific cells, rows, columns or even a full table of data. (In the example below we are selecting the value of just one cell to show how granular the collection process can get).
5. Add a title, subtitle, description and tags. For example:
6. Save. Now, your Data Stream is ready for action! Use it, embed it, share, export, keep track of it in a dashboard….and that’s just the beginning. More coming soon.
Here´s the example of an Accounting Expert Blogger in South America that is creating Junar Data Streams and embedding those in his blog ( http://www.diegofinanzas.blogspot.com/ ).
